Eligibility Criteria

Welcome to Little Dreams Free Learning Space’s application guidance page.

We understand that when you seek learning support for your child, you carry in your heart both hope for their future and a quiet, deep love for them. Here, we wish to walk with you through every step of the application process in the warmest and clearest way possible, to give you peace of mind and to help your child begin this learning journey smoothly.

Our Guiding Principle

“Ensuring no child loses the opportunity to learn due to financial circumstances.”

The founding of “Little Dreams” stems from a simple yet steadfast belief: every child deserves to be seen, and every dream deserves to be nurtured. We firmly believe that a family’s financial situation should not be a barrier to a child’s pursuit of knowledge. Therefore, we open our arms to welcome all families in genuine need, so that together we can light a lamp on their child’s learning path.

Eligibility

Who is Eligible to Apply for Our Free Tutoring Service?

To ensure our resources are directed to children with the greatest need and that our service can operate sustainably, we have set the following eligibility criteria. We sincerely welcome you to submit an application for your child if you meet any one of the following conditions:
1

Families Currently Receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA)

This is the group we prioritise for our services. Please be assured that we fully understand the difficulties of daily life, and your application will receive our full attention and support.

2

Families Not Receiving CSSA but with a Written School Recommendation

We understand that many families may be on the edge of CSSA eligibility, facing similarly heavy financial pressures. If this describes your situation, we accept a written recommendation letter jointly signed by the Principal and the Registered School Social Worker of the school your child attends. This letter represents the school's understanding and support of your family's circumstances and is an important basis for us to provide our service.

3

Special or Emergency Cases

Life can sometimes bring unexpected hardships. If your situation is special or urgent and does not fit into the above two categories, you are welcome to contact our Chief Executive directly. We have a discretionary mechanism in place and will listen carefully to your circumstances with a human-centred, caring approach to assess whether we can offer assistance.

Who We Serve

We primarily provide whole-subject learning support for pupils from Primary 1 to Secondary 6. If you are a university student facing academic difficulties, you are also welcome to apply. Depending on the availability of volunteer teachers in the relevant subjects, we will do our best to match you with support.

Please note: To adhere to our service mission and resource allocation principles, our services are currently only available to Hong Kong permanent residents studying at schools in Hong Kong.
